Position Purpose

This is a one or two-year contract for students who have recently graduated and want to enhance their education and training through working in the DALI Lab.  The Digital Arts Leadership and Innovation (DALI) Lab Project Manager, working closely with the Executive Director and Technical Director, provides support for the Lab and its members by tracking projects and providing project management guidance and resources to Lab teams and individual students. Provides project management and organizational support for student teams and works with the teams on agile project management techniques and communication skills.  During the Fellowship, the Project Manager will support experiential learning and help create project management training materials. Facilitates the success of many multi-disciplinary teams working on diverse projects in a collaborative startup-like environment.

Key Accountabilities
 

Project and Information Management

·      Works with the DALI leadership team and student members to develop agile project management techniques that work in the unique DALI Lab setting.

·      Support lab members and help them plan project timelines and track milestones.

·      Develops project management training utilizing current best practices.

·      Work with mentors to make sure the team and partner are communicating well together.

·      Manages multiple projects, with multiple colleagues, in a deadline-driven environment.

·      Help coordinate lab workshops and events.

·      Keep project files organized using the labs collaboration tools.

 Training and Team Organization

·      Provides in-person training, training materials, and onboarding for new team members.

·      Meets with groups and partners to help student teams determine milestones and goals.

·      Helps students with project discovery phase, gathering information and data to clarify requirements.

·      Develops testing methodologies and helps students implement user testing.

·      Empowers others to take ownership of their work and communicate confidently and effectively.

Communication and professional development

·      Updates DALI website and assists in creating press releases and project write-ups.

·      Facilitates clear communication between and among student teams and external partners.

·      Communicates respectfully to a diverse community.

·      Maintains current knowledge of agile project management best practices.

Performs other duties as needed.

Experience

·      Experience in project asset management and practices as well as agile methodology and coordination tools such as git, slack, and trello.

·      Successful track record managing interdisciplinary teams in creating great products.

Experience and comfort working closely with and guiding students.

Education

Bachelors or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
