Pulse Wins NH Startup Competition

Dartmouth student startup Pulse was recently awarded $100,000 in investment capital at a startup competition held by Alpha Loft NH. Pulse has been in the DALI Lab since spring of 2016. It is a webapp that works toward solving the low response rate to institutional surveys by offering local incentives and sharing the data with participants. Over the course of a year, founder Terren Klein ‘18 and his DALI team took the webapp through several iterations to a now complete product ready for expansion to other schools. Currently, the team is working on mobile app development, adding more data-analysis features, and preparing to launch at other Ivy League colleges and NH high schools. As the project matures, it offers a valuable experience for DALI developers to learn and work within a large codebase.

Eight startups presented at the Alpha Loft Startup Shindig in Manchester, NH as the culmination of their incubator program. Pulse was one of three teams to receive $100,000 in investment capital by Millworks Fund Series II, a New Hampshire-based venture capital group committed to supporting local entrepreneurs. With funding in hand, Klein will continue working on Pulse full-time after graduation. Robin Jayaswal ‘18 will continue to act as Pulse’s lead developer. Jayaswal has been a DALI member since fall of 2015 and was a key member of the DALI Pulse team from the beginning. Many congratulations to Klein and every DALI member who has been a part of the team in the past year (Ben Packer ‘17, Jessie Anderson ‘18, Kyle Dotterrer ‘18, Ahsan Azim ‘18, Emma Demers ‘20, Shuoqi Chen ‘18, Christopher Yih ‘17, Benjamin Holland ‘16, Sameer Bansal ‘16, Justin Lee ‘16)! We are excited to continue working with Pulse in the fall.
