New Support for Social Entrepreneurs

At DALI, our mission is to transform the world by building products that address acute needs in our community and beyond (and to open a world of possibilities for students along the way!). As part of the Magnuson Center’s initiative to foster social entrepreneurship, DALI is launching a new program to promote more initiatives that have a bold mission. This new funding allows us to support more projects with a positive impact, regardless of their financial situation. We can help more startup ideas launch, gain traction, and reach their potential. This opportunity is for daring individuals and teams who are dedicated to leveraging entrepreneurship to create a positive impact on society, workers, the community, and the environment. This grant covers partial or full DALI design and build costs for partners working with a DALI Lab design and software engineering team. Visit our partner page to learn more about partnerships with the DALI.

Over the past year, we soft-launched this program and have already provided design and engineering support to the following inspirational projects:

  • PeerTECH: A mobile application designed to facilitate digital peer support for individuals who suffer from mental illness. Download

  • NHPR Civics 101: An Alexa application that furthers the civics knowledge and engagement through a gamified learning experience.

  • My Brain Explained: A toolbox for students and underserved populations, helping users better harness their cognitive potential.

  • EQ2: An app supporting direct-care staff working with high-risk, trauma-impacted youth by building resiliency, stress management, and co-regulation skills to reduce burnout and foster a more caring and contagiously positive environment. Learn more about their first version.

  • Flourish: An app designed to help patients with multi-symptom chronic illnesses better track, visualize, and communicate their symptoms and triggers over time.

  • TheatreVR: A virtual reality educational and performance platform that will help model a path forward for culturally nuanced storytelling that celebrates and values diversity and minorities, and calls for racial justice in theatre education and industry practice.

Technigala 21W: Mar 17, 6-8PM ET

Celebrate the culmination of student efforts this winter in DALI, CS98,
CS29/89, CS21, CS25 and others by demoing their projects live! We're hosting
Technigala on Remo, a remote conferencing program that is fun to use (and you
don't have to download anything!), so you can "walk around," try different
projects, and talk with the makers themselves.
